Question: Is God in control of everything? because i can not find it anywhere in the new testament in my bible.
Answer:
The Bible clearly presents God as Sovereign and in total control over all things. Nothing can happen in this world without God's permission. It is because God is the ultimate ruler over His creation. It is true that there are many references in the Old Testament which clearly speak on the Sovereignty of God and His rulership over all creation.
The word Almighty itself means 'one who has power over everything', in other words the one in total control. The title Almighty occurs many times in the book of Revelation. Even otherwise, we see the fact that God is in control over all things in the Gospels through the life of Jesus and the book of Acts in how God directs all things.
Ephesians 1:11 emphatically says God works all things according to His will. So we can be rest assured that our God is in control over all things and the teachings of God's Sovereignty in the Old Testament is approved and sustained in the New Testament.

but isn't it also true that we can miss God's plan and will in our life because of our mistakes..Despite the fact that God is almighty and He can interfere but He doesn't at times.Then in the those times cant we say that we take control of our lives.

Thanks for visiting the blog and offering your comment. The Bible teaches that God is Sovereign over all things and at the same time it does not absolve our human responsibility. Our choices does not nullify the sovereignty of God. Although the sovereignty of God and the responsibility of man seem like opposites they are not a contradiction. We can call it a mystery that we cannot fathom.
So even when we continue to make our choices God may let us go in our direction. But it does not mean that God has lost control over our life. In fact, as believers we even have the assurance that God will bring us back even when we walk away from Him!
