Question: If you don't believe you deserve punishment for your sin are you really saved? Because we were born sinners, i don believe that we deserve it because we cannot change the fact that we are sinners.
Answers:
When we use the word 'we are saved' we have to ask ourselves the question 'What are we saved from?' We can understand the good news of salvation only in light of the bad news. If there is no punishment for sins, then our salvation loses its meaning. When we say 'we are saved' we are stating that we are saved from sin, darkness, and destruction because of Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ died in our place and took the punishment that we deserve for our sins. The Bible says in Rom 3:23,"for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,". Again it says in Rom 6:23,"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." So it is obvious from the Scripture that we deserve condemnation for our sins and we have to believe what the Bible says because it is the word of God. It may go against our sentiments and may even offend us but we have to humble ourselves and accept what God has to say in His word.
It is true that the only criteria for salvation is faith in Christ and all we have to do is to trust in Christ alone in order to be saved. But when we believe we need Jesus Christ in order to be saved we are also assuming that a person is lost without Jesus. Otherwise, the choice to follow Jesus Christ does not make sense. If sin does not deserve punishment Jesus would not have left His heavenly kingdom and come into this world as a man and die on the cross.
Even though we are born with a sinful nature, yet we cannot excuse or justify ourselves for the personal sins we commit. We are accountable to God for our actions and without Christ all people are lost. It is in light of this grim and sobering message the light of the gospel emerges and shines so brilliantly. We don't have to die in our sins, we can have life through Jesus Christ.

Just stumbled across your blog and was interested in this question.
You can understand why people get hung up on it can't you?
If sin isn't our fault why make us pay for it? Stands to reason...
It helps to understand why we need the sacrifice of Jesus in the first place. The Bible says that Christ died for all mankind, but only those who acknowledge him will benefit from his sacrifice. Seeing as how man was originally designed to be perfect and to live in a perfect world, it makes it difficult for Christians to navigate their way around in such foreign territory today. The world is not a nice place to live and everything that man is doing to the planet and each other is offensive to their Maker.
Many people cannot understand why God allows such suffering and injustice to go on as it is...but how else could we know how bad the devil's rulership is? Adam chose it when he disobeyed and forced his children to endure it for a long time after he was gone. We will never forget this and no one will ever be tempted to repeat the same actions again.
We have to remember that the first rebellion was in the spirit realm, so it is not just God's earthly children who need the lesson...all of intelligent creation are on the same learning curve.
Christ's sacrifice takes us back to square one...back to perfect people living in a perfect world, ruled by God as it was intended in the beginning.
Paradise lost, paradise regained. A simple message, complicated only by the devil throwing several spanners in the works. But God has risen to each occasion to keep his purpose on track. Humans can only try to ruin the earth, rebel spirit sons can do way more damage, so we are glad God has kept his purpose on track and that the time is almost up for his Kingdom to "come" and put everything right. The question of obedience will never be raised again. All that we have been through will set legal precedents for all time to come, guaranteeing that the future will be wonderful!
All God has ever asked of us is to obey him. Not unreasonable is it?
Have a good one

Hello Jane,
Thank you so much for taking time to visit my blog. I appreciate the insights you have posted. I agree with you that because of Jesus Christ the effect of the Fall is being reversed. In fact, I believe after our resurrection in our glorified bodies we will reach a state that is better than what Adam and Eve had before the Fall.
Please do keep visiting the blog and I appreciate your comments.
